SCC Week 2 Day 1

Ok ok so I skipped ahead a whole week haha.  I haven't finished all of my cards for week one and really wanted to start on the sketches that were posted for week two.

For this card I chose the circle card sketch.  I love the paper.  It is from Stampin Up.  I am in love with hexagons right now!

Enjoy!

Summer Card Camp 2

I love the classes over at onlinecardclasses.com. Very informative and great teachers.

Week 1 Day 1
For the first day they posted colors and sketches to use.

For my first card I had a robot that I purchased from Mo's Digital Pencil, that I wanted to use on my grandson's birthday card.  I used the colors posted above but had to switch the hot pink to red to make it more for a boy.  I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The card stock is from one of my Simon Says Stamp monthly card kits so it is most likely Bazzil.

Enjoy!

Birthdays, Birthdays, and still more Birthdays!

I have had a LOT of birthdays to make cards for in May and June!  I don't have too many the rest of the year and have forgotten how much I love making birthday cards.  I decided I might as well enter a couple contests with the ones I have made too.

This card is one I made for my niece. I decided this one would be perfect to enter in the Spectrum Noir Challenge.  This month's challenge is summer and what is more summer than bright cheery colors!

The stamp is from Penny Black and colored in with Spectrum Noir markers.  The washi tape and letter stickers are from Doodlebug.

Thanks for looking!

Craft Fair

I have a craft fair tomorrow that I have been preparing for and have made the cutest magnets. It has been busy and fun making stuff but I forget how boring it is to make 10 of one thing haha.

I cut these little guys out with my silhouette. I love how it will cut even the intricate little whiskers.

I have also been making these beautiful hot air balloon that I downloaded from svgcuts.com.

You've Got Mail!

So I have been taking a class from Studio Calico called You've Got Mail with Lisa Spangler.  We are in the second week and it is so fun to come up with new cards.  Each week there is a challenge and new tips and tricks.  One of the tips this week is using mists so I have been playing with my Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists.  Love them!

I have just made little 3x3 cards but they are sooooo cute!
I used Studio Calico's Huey's Mask, Heidi Swapp color shine primrose and mustard on Stampin Up white card stock.  The stamp set is one of the little dollar ones from JoAnn's but I am not sure who made it because I don't have the packaging for it anymore.  I am sure it is about 5 yrs old haha. For the tree branch I used Nena craft card stock and stamped the woodgrain pattern with tea dye distress ink and then also used that color to add some darker color to it.  I then just cut it to look like a tree branch.  The twine is limeade Sew Easy fancy floss from We R Memory Keepers.  The card base is Stampin Up So Saffron.

My next card is also a 3x3.  The card base is whisper white card stock from Stampin Up.  I used my little bubble mask from Studio Calico and mustard Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  The washi tape is from Simon Says Stamp's March card kit and is from My Mind's Eye. Enamel dot is from the He said She said collection by Teresa Collins.  Banner is from the Itty Bitty Banners by Stampin Up.  The die is also the same collection.

Sorry that posts have been kind of sparse lately.  Winters and me don't do so well.  Now that it has warmed up I can get back to some card making.  I did get some ribbon holders and some shelves made for my ink pads.

Here is a video of what they look like.  I should have some instructions put up in the next few days on how to make them.  Enjoy!

Inky fingers

I have to say that I love Stampin' Up!s basic gray ink.  Love love love that color.  I also love distress inks.  I have never really used them much.  I have had the antique linen pad forever but didn't know the extent of what you could do with them.  I bought me a few more colors and have been playing around with them.

I cut a bunch of tags with my Silhouette for making ink swatches with.  I definitely like being able to see all of the colors and how they look when stamped.

I had a few extra tags and decided to play around with the distress inks.  I also finally got to playing with a stamp set that I have had for about 5 or 6 years and never used!  I don't have the packaging anymore but I believe they are inkadinkadoo.  Super cute dog stamps.  Don't have enough lighting to post pictures tonight of what I have been working on but will get some put up tomorrow.

Happily Ever After

So the boyfriend of 4 1/2 yrs ask me if I would make a card for him to give me haha.  It is better than buying one for myself.  I told him I would and decided it would be awesome because then it would definitely be one I liked. I also told him it needed to have the words will you marry me written inside.  We have already talked about getting married.  We are getting married.  I just want the formality of being ask. :)

I also decided that this one would be perfect for entering in the Simon Says Stamp Card Challenge.
This inspiration for this challenge is hearts.  I love the falling hearts die from Simon Says Stamp.  I figured it would be perfect for a challenge that was hearts.

Enjoy.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Polka Dots

This is for a challenge over at Paper Smooches.  The challenge is to create a card using polka dots.  This is my take on the polka dots.  I used Spellbinders Impressibilities Circles and spritzed it with Smooch Spritz from Stampin' Up!.  The Love sentiment and the hearts used for the flower are digital images from Paper Smooches that you can get for free here.  I wanted to do something different and used a thin piece of green card stock and twisted it ... I kinda like the effect :)

Enjoy!

Hello Sunshine

I have to start by saying I am kind of bummed. I made this card hoping to enter in a challenge with Paper Smooches. I finished it late last night...and I mean late! So I figured I would post it here to day and link it. Well.... That didn't quite go as pleased. Spent time with family for the Super Bowl and got home later than I expected to. Oh well. family was definitely more important. Anyways here is the card. I have a good friend in mind to send this to. I figure she could use a pick me up.

Birthday Cupcake

I made this card for my brother in law.  I wanted to make sure it wasn't too girlie or too much little kid being he is in his 30's :)

I used Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio 2.  Right now it is free to try for 30 days so I figured I would download it and try it out.
I printed all of the patterned papers from what is available for you in the trial version.  I used my cupcake punch from Stampin' Up! for the cupcake.  The sentiment is also from the MDS2.  I printed it out and cut the banner, then inked the edges with SU pumpkin pie ink. The center was cut out and the frame was made using the small circle nestabilities dies.

Enjoy!

I am a winner!

Yay!  I finally won one of the blog giveaways that I entered.  I seem to enter all of them because who doesn't like free stuff?!
Well this one was through Live Eat Craft and the prize was $35 to spend at Prettiful Designs.  How awesome is that!

I will post pictures when I get done shopping.

Anniversary Card

I made this anniversary card for my parents the other day.  Yay!  49 yrs.  I had a different card in mind but it didn't work out haha.  Scrapped that one and put together this one.  I like this one a lot.

I had this flower that I cut out using a sizzex die and really wanted to use it on a card.  I picked the paper and embellishments to go with the flower.
The paper is from Stampin' Up! Designer pack that you get free when you make a $50 purchase.
The paper with the large design I trimmed from a 12x12 piece and then attached using dimensionals.  The sentiment was inked with versamark then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Any questions feel free to ask. I will have links to supplies used below in the next day or two.

Clear Stamp Storage

So I ran across a video of this gal's craft room on YouTube. Can you say organized. I wish I could afford to be that organized. I like my stuff organized but I would love to have the cabinets and drawer systems and such. Well she had mentioned that she previously stored her clear stamps in Tim Holtz binders but found it took up too much space and she left them in the sleeves but stored them in baskets. Well I store mine in baskets but what I needed was the sleeves and I don't have the money for the awesome sleeves she had, so it got me to thinking. I had some old 8.5x11 page protectors that weren't doing anything but taking up space. I decided to out them to good use.

First I cut them in half. Paper cutter goes through them like butter.

Then I broke out the trusty food storage bag sealer and sealed the open sides. I use deluge on half of them to see how it worked for those of you that don't have a seal a meal type doo hickey.I tried glue and it didn't stay stuck.  You would probably be able to use a tape runner though.

Next I very carefully cut a slit across the top through just one layer.  You could cut it before you seal the sides but everything didn't want to line up straight because of how slippery it is.

Last but not least, you put your stamp set inside.  Yay!  This will help keep dust off.  I also wrote on the white part at the top what the stamp set was so you could flip through and find the one you are looking for easily.

Stampin' Up! Haul

My daughter is selling Stampin' Up! and I think I got carried away with my ordering haha.  Here is what I ordered.

My first new favorite I ordered is the paper trimmer.  I used to have a fiskars one but it disappeared so I was stuck with my green cricut one.  I got to where I despised it.  It would tear my paper everytime whether it was a new blade or not.

The new Stampin' Up! trimmer is AWESOME.  It has a 6" platform which will let you score or cut for cards without having to extend the arm.  The arm extends to 14" which is also extremely awesome.  One other thing to mention is that it has the scoring blade on the cutting arm thingy but the cutter is long enough to let you cut or score with the other blade on there.... can I say awesome! (one more thing is that when you use the scoring blade it doesn't cut through your paper like above mentioned other brand cutter did).

To purchase any item you see here, click here, then click products and shop now.  I will post item numbers for each product next to the name so that you can enter the number in the search feature.

I also ordered some papers.  I love the thickness of their designer paper.  The first one I got was some card stock and some designer paper from their brights collection.

Designer Series - Brights Collection 12x12 (117155)

Smooth Card Stock - Brights Collection
8-1/2x11 (119706)
12x12 (119710)

I love the colors.  I ended up getting the collection of inks in the brights collection also. The stamp pads are awesome because they are the foam pad and not the felt.  They give awesome ink coverage and really good impressions.  You can also get the ink pads individually and not in the collection pack.  To purchase them individually, use the instructions above and either search for ink or along the left hand side click on ink then classic and it will come up with all the ink pads that are available.

Brights Classic Stampin' Pads (126987)

Next are the stamp sets.  I only got the clear mount because of restrictions on storage space.  I am posting the pictures a little large so that you can get a better picture of what is in each one. The wood mount stamps have the w and the clear mount are the c.
